How to Write an Executive Summary Example Resume
How to Write an Executive Summary Example ResumeMany people ask me how to write an executive summary example resume. They are usually looking for a sample resume that they can just copy and paste into their resume and then resend it out to their potential employers. The reality is that it is not that easy, and for the same reason that the candidate's cover letter can't be simply copied and pasted into their resume. The first and most important aspect of writing a resume is your resume must be professional. This means that you need to make sure that you follow the standards set by the Human Resources Department of every company you're submitting it to. You may be surprised to learn that in order to get your resume accepted by the employers, you need to go above and beyond.Your resumes need to be unique, you need to be prepared, and the facts and the data must be clear and concise. To get your resume read by the Human Resources Department, the first thing you need to do is to have proof read it. Any errors you find should be fixed immediately. If you don't, it will be your fault for the employer who will not be able to hire you.In addition to having proofread your resume, you should also make sure that your executive summary example resume is complete. You need to make sure you fill each and every blank in your CV, so make sure that everything is clearly stated.Besides proofreading your resume, you should also try to edit it as much as possible. Most candidates think that just by re-writing it, they can get rid of all the mistakes and errors. In fact, you still need to edit your resume, and it won't be a good decision if you do not have enough time to do so.As you can see, you need to go beyond just knowing where to look for job openings. If you want to land a position, you should have a professional resume that meets the standards of every job opening. If you have a professional resume, it will definitely help you get hired faster than the average candidate. So don 't be afraid to spend some time working on your resume, but do also know that when there are hundreds of available jobs, it will take you months to write and edit. Even though there are thousands of CV samples in the internet, you will still need to write your own. This can take more time than you might think, and most probably your prospects will pass you by.Writing a CV is not something that anyone can do within an hour or two. In order to write a good CV, you will need to spend some time on it, not only reading about what you need to do. So spend some time researching and learning all you can about how to write a CV, and you will end up with a professional resume that will win you the job that you have been hoping for.

Staying or Going How to Negotiate More Money
Staying or Going How to Negotiate More Money Times are tough, while the future looks bright. If you thought being comfortable was your goal, itâs time for a re-think. Weâre in the 4th revolution. The job economy is hurtling towards automation, AI and robotics which impact the workplace, radically transforming every aspect of how work gets done. Letâs take a reality check on what this means, just for a moment. Itâs going to impact stability. Right now, weâre experiencing a weeding out of talent and the number of workers needed to actually do a job. Thereâs a massive downsizing happening across the board. In contrast, a genuine talent shortage exists because few people possess the needed technical and social skills, plus all-important intellectual abilities, to really excel in todayâs workforce environment. The domino effect creates a lack of effective leaders that negatively impacts organizations and the people within them. Itâs quite the puzzle to solve, but one thatâs full of potential for top tier talent! For talent performing well in their organization, theyve just gained a huge advantage. Employees that can proactively demonstrate their value while aggressively continuing their own professional development by keeping their skills are up to date and on par, or more advanced than the competition can win big in this environment. Donât just sit and feel comfortable with what you have be proactive, assertive, curious, and develop a continuous learning-centric attitude to continually develop your emotional intelligence to enable you to win. Hereâs a common scenario encountered by versatile talent today: A hard-to-find innovation leader is a fantastic cultural fit in a very large technology company, and is actively pursued by competitors. The company she is currently working for has a reputation for offering bottom-of-the-bracket salaries. While she loves the company, the salary is not competitive with what she can make by moving somewhere else. Sheâs seriously considering a new adventure to enable her to give a better life to her family and save for the future. She hesitates to ask for a raise because of the companyâs frugal attitude. At the same time, sheâs not sure she should leave because she loves her work and the culture where she is. It creates a difficult challenge. Itâs clear she doesnât want to leave, so what should she do? First, she must determine what she likes about her present company versus other companies shes considering moving to. She needs to perform a real analysis and decide what she wants to achieve over the next five to ten years, and which company will help her to get there. She needs to critically review either scenario and how things could play out over the next few years. Only after she makes a decision that she wants to stay, does she approach her career manager or boss. She sets up a time to meet with them, in an attempt to outline her thoughts, which go along the following lines: âI love this company. I am committed and see myself contributing in X, Y, and Z areas. I can see the company growing. I see myself managing these important projects over the next 18 months and want to drive the company forward in the following ways X, Y, Z. However, I need a salary or pay package review.â She waits at this point to gather feedback from the listener. Sheâs looking for acknowledgement of her contribution and ideally agreement that her boss wholeheartedly agrees with her, and is open to taking the next steps. If sheâs hard-balled back, then she can argue her case on how sheâs been headhunted from competitors with better offers, hence her requesting $X, which is in alignment with the other offers sheâs receiving. She reiterates that sheâs turning them down because sheâs committed to reaching insert goals with company. She states though, that itâs time for a raise and asks her boss how they can help make it happen for her. Hereâs what this manager has just demonstrated to her boss: Sheâs done his analysis Sheâs demonstrated his value to date and anticipated long-term impact for the company She believes in the company and how he is an integral part of it Sheâs demonstrating sheâs fully engaged and loves her work Sheâs stating the truth. The salary isnât competitive in the market and sheâs a desirable candidate by the competition the company respects. Sheâs restates her commitment She states what she wants She assumes itâs going to happen rather than it being a negotiation She enlists her boss as her ally instead of making them her adversary. This above scenario will take place at least once in your career and often talent hesitates to ask for a raise, or goes about asking for one in the wrong way. Sometimes, the talent has seriously misdiagnosed their internal value and the situation does not work out in their favor. There is a lot of fear and job insecurity today among workers, but this needs to be overcome on an individual level to continue to climb the ladder. Much of your career is about negotiation. Negotiation with yourself on what learning will feed both your passion and industry relevance, plus negotiation with the companies you work for. Iâm not advocating for everyone to ask for outrageous, uncompetitive and untimely pay raises; itâs about learning to manage your career well. The ability to navigate the pitfalls and difficult areas of work and personal relationships must be mastered in order to continue moving upward professionally. Often people get locked into positions because they donât feel as though they have alternatives or know how to create another option for themselves. Learning how to create options is a critical piece of your career development. Taking control of your career and navigating turbulent waters is a fundamental piece of mastering your career and leadership ability. If you learn how to do this for yourself, you can expect your career to move FORWARD. About the author: Caroline Stokes is the Founder of Forward Human Capital Solutions. Finding the Link Between Peace and Productivity
Finding the Link Between Peace and Productivity Daniel canât concentrate on what his daughter is saying. Heâs frantically trying to recall the commitment he made to a now-angry customer. âIs this a right angle?â his daughter asks as she works on her geometry homework. But she doesnât expect a reply. Sheâs used to a dad whoâs not really there. She puts away her unfinished homework while Daniel stares into space, his heart racing, palms sweaty, head spinning. What else has slipped his mind? Our research shows most people can relate with Daniel: a third of which feel overwhelmed; nearly half are unable to focus, and one in five struggle to be present at home. These are all signs of a failing personal productivity system. Danielâs system of capturing to-dos on sticky notes, constantly reviewing his email and checking his calendar may have gotten him through college, his first job, and his first promotion, but it isnât robust enough for his new situation: marriage, children, community commitments, and managerial roles. The most telling symptom of a failing productivity system is not age, organizational status, or income. The most salient sign your system is not serving you is the quality of your life. If stress and distraction are frequent companions, then your productivity habits have not kept pace with your lifeâs complexity. If Daniel could transform his sputtering system into the Ferrari model, how would his life change? Would he be more or less of a workaholic? Would his stress increase or decrease? Would his capacity to experience enjoyment grow or shrink? We wanted to find out, but we didnât start with the Daniels. Instead, we began with top performers â" people who were rated ten out of ten by their managers. Are You a Ten? First, we wanted to know what it means to be a ten, to be rated a top performer by your boss. We predicted top performers would be more valuable than average performers but we wanted to know how much more and what they do that makes them so valuable. So we surveyed 1,594 managers and peers, and asked them about employees they rate as âtens on a ten-point performance scaleâ. It turns out, both managers and peers say tens are three times more valuable than an average employee and do 61 percent of the total work in their departments. Whatâs more, managers and peers agreed tens work smarter, not harder, and are less stressed than the average employee. So, how do these top performers do it? To answer this question, we tested the methodology described by David Allen in his book, Getting Things Done to see whether the GTD practices could make someone a ten. We had 2,072 respondents assess the impact of their production practices on two key areas: performance and stress. Statistical tests confirmed that participants with high productivity scores had performance levels 68 percent higher and yet half the stress of participants with low scores. As it turns out, GTD practices dramatically improve performance while reducing stress. Specifically, people with high scores are: 55 times less likely to start projects that never get finished 21 times less likely to experience tasks and responsibilities falling through the cracks Never likely to miss deadlines or assignments 18 times less likely to feel overwhelmed Actions You Can Take Our research shows that learning the productivity skills demonstrated by top performers is key to both personal and organizational success. The message in this research is that a very small number of self-management practices literally change a personâs life and are also beneficial to the organization â" they dramatically improve performance while also reducing stress. Below are five productivity practices of top performing employees. practices aligned with the skills in Getting Things Done. that anyone can implement into their own productivity system today: Collect everything that owns your attention. Capture all commitments, tasks, ideas, and projects rather than keeping them in your head. Use just a few âcapture toolsâ you keep with you all the time such as lists, apps, email, etc. Decide what your stuff means to you. Clarify if the items youâve captured have an action or not. If they do, be very clear about what the VERY next action is and who should take it. Use the two-minute rule. If an action can be completed in two minutes or less, do it immediately. Donât defer. The time youâll waste letting these simple actions occupy your attention and the to-do list is not worth itâ"two minutes becomes your efficiency cutoff. Do more of the right things by reflecting on the right moments. Rather than diving into your messy inbox first thing, take two minutes to review your calendar and your action lists. This reflection ensures you make the best decisions about how to use your time. Review weekly. Keep a sacred, non-negotiable meeting with yourself every week to re-sync, get current, and align your daily work and projects with your higher-level priorities.
